Furyk at the Ryder Cup
November 10, 2008
Since I’m from Kentucky (though I now live in Florida), I followed the foursome containing Kenny Perry and J.B. Holmes quite a bit during their practice round at the Ryder Cup.
Boo Weekley and Jim Furyk were in the same foursome, so I got several shots of them, too.
Here are some of Furyk.

Azinger and Kim

Ryder Cup captain Paul Azinger and Anthony Kim certainly seemed to enjoy each other’s company.

Justin Leonard draws a crowd
November 6, 2008
Here are two shots of Justin Leonard working on his short game behind the 12th green at Valhalla Golf Club during a practice round for the Ryder Cup.
I like the first one because of the woman peering through the crowd behind him and the second one because of the number of people with cameras in the crowd.

I love golf photography
November 5, 2008
I’ve made a big change in my life this year, moving from Kentucky to The Villages in central Florida, and I’ve decided I’m not done with taking risks and shaking things up.
I’m making a big change in my professional life, as well.
I’m going to emphasize golf photography, since it lets me combine two of my real passions — photography and golf.
I have photographed numerous golf tournaments and golf courses through the years (check out my Photoshelter site to view some of the tournaments I’ve shot in the past year).
I’ve covered all of the big statewide tournaments in Kentucky and both of the PGA Championships that were held at Valhalla in Louisville.
I was in the process of moving to Florida when the 2008 Ryder Cup was being played and I no longer was the chief photographer at a newspaper, so I didn’t get a chance to photograph any of the matches.
I did, however, photograph Tuesday’s practice round.
Here is a shot of Anthony Kim taking a break from his practice round so he could talk on his cell phone. I like it because it shows his personality.
